Kodi of FLYING B RESCUE was picked up and being cared for by a Good Samaritan after he was abandoned by his owners who moved. She contacted us becuase she was worried about Kodi’s odd symptoms so we rushed him to the ER Vet for a diagnosis. Turns out Kodi had tetanus, a rare disease in dogs (our vet had only seen it 3 or 4 times in her career).
Kodi was the “poster child” for tetanus symptoms - think lockjaw and stiff limbs. With the care person’s quick actions and 24 hours of treatment, the symptoms started to subside.
Now he’s a normal, happy puppy. Eats like a champ. Crate and house trained, and just full of life.
FERRIS ANIMAL SHELTER: At five years old, Knox should be settled into life—his favorite couch, a familiar routine, a family who knows every one of his quiet quirks. Instead, he sits behind shelter walls, not because he did anything wrong, but because someone gave up on him.
He was surrendered by his owner. No explanation. No warning. One day, he had a home. The next, he had nothing.
Knox didn’t bark. He didn’t panic.
He just looked back one last time—and walked in with a dignity that broke our hearts.
Since arriving, he’s done everything right.
He listens. He waits. He watches the door like maybe, just maybe, they’ll come back for him.
Now he needs someone new to see his worth—someone who won’t give up this time.
He’s a Shar Pei with that signature thoughtful face and a heart full of quiet love. He doesn’t ask for much—just a safe place to rest his head and a human who understands that he’s not starting over… he’s learning to be loved again.
