LOST & FOUND PETS

LOST & FOUND

Petco Love Lost is a great resource for Lost and Found Pets.  They offer a free and easy way to search for lost pets. You can upload images of lost or found pets, and their AI technology helps narrow down the search.

Always scan for a microchip on any found pet - a vet, animal hospital or shelter can help scan the pet. We also have scanners and can help as well.

FOUND PETS:
Not every pet out there has been abandoned, some need help finding their way home. So let's help get these babies home! Here's a guideline when sharing on social media:

* 𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 (INCLUDE CITY & STREET(S)
* 𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍 (DATE & TIME is critical when someone is in search of their pet)
* 𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐎𝐑 / 𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐃 (Take your best guess)
* 𝐌𝐀𝐋𝐄 𝐎𝐑 𝐅𝐄𝐌𝐀𝐋𝐄
* 𝐇𝐀𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐄𝐓 𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐍 𝐒𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐄𝐃 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐀 𝐌𝐈𝐂𝐑𝐎𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐏 - usually a veterinary office can help. (we also have scanners)
* 𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐈𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐄𝐓 𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 𝐍𝐎𝐖
* 𝐏𝐎𝐒𝐓: On neighborhood apps as well as facebook groups.
* 𝐊𝐍𝐎𝐂𝐊 𝐎𝐍 𝐃𝐎𝐎𝐑𝐒 Sometimes a neighbor might know the owner.
* 𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐋 your local animal shelter, non-emergency police number, animal services, or animal control office (most people will report a missing pet here)

LOST PETS:

It is important to note that a dog will initially run NORTH - SOUTH - this is called a run compass. They run, and use the earth's magnetic fields to get their bearings, then turn in the direction that will lead them home. Learn more here: https://thetucsondog.com/scientists-believe-dogs-are.../
